Users only have to redeem a coupon from the entity to be able to purchase and register with it. The application is open to everyone and, even if it does not have coupons from a social entity, it can be very useful for purchasing food products, counteracting waste and promoting the sustainability of the planet and local commerce.

The local businesses attached are varied, especially in certain localities where there are social entities with use licenses, and more can always be added. Below we analyze in depth the facilities for end users and social entities.

Using the app is the way through which users can purchase their food packages. The main difference between using the app with the support of an entity is that the user must redeem the coupon provided by it to start purchasing with the balance that it provides.  

Registration is very simple as you only have to enter an email, a password and your first and last name; apart from accepting the privacy policy and terms of use. In addition, there is the option to register with Google, Apple or Facebook, which also speeds up the process.  

After registering, the next step is to use the app, which has the following main spaces:  

  • Search for food lots 
  • receipts  
  • Profile 
 

*If you redeem a coupon from an entity, an extra section will appear in the menu, for the communications and events let them launch. This is very useful to receive coupon codes, be aware of notices about assigned credits or other relevant information provided by the entity, as well as to consult scheduled events. 

In the profile menu you can view the user account and available credits. These credits are obtained by redeeming coupons. In this menu you can also review the terms of conditions and the privacy policy, close the session or delete the account. 

The first thing the user has to do is allow or not allow the app to know their location to show nearby establishments and how far away they are, although you can also search for a specific location without enabling access to the user's location.

Being registered in a social entity and using its coupons, the user can choose between two types of lots:

  • “Surprise” Lots –  The specific contents of the lot are found out upon pickup at the specified time.

Redeem a coupon from your entity  

People who receive coupons from their social entity or any other means can redeem them from their profile (icon in the bottom menu on the right). The user will automatically receive the credits, and from that moment on they will be able to save lots by spending them.  

 

Environment for entities  

Once the license is acquired, Coometas provides the link to the management environment, enables the registration of a corresponding account and assigns the agreed coupons to the entity.

The first step will be to go to the coupons section to provide the code to users, so that they register when redeeming it and it is saved on the platform.

    • Coupons: At this point you can check how many credits a coupon has left, its expiration dates, the credit expiration date, and the moment it was redeemed. Also the campaign to which it belongs, the type, the users to whom it is assigned and if it is still available. In this way, the entity can track usage and consult timely information.
    • Users: One of the coupon codes has been redeemed from the app and the registered user in this section automatically appears. Here you can see the person's data (name, surname, email and registration date), the campaign to which it belongs (TECSOS, in this test case), the remaining credit, the amount spent, the total assigned and the expired amount. The number of orders and total lots also appears, as well as the date of the last one. There is the option to edit and change the data of each user. 
    • Transactions: It is about providing data on purchases in stores, in such a way that their records are displayed with their ID, name of the offer, price, location of the store and the buyer. Also if the payment was made with credit or card. During the time that Encantado de Comerte has been tested, no closing failure, geolocation problems or others related to the proper functioning of the app have been observed. 

It should be remembered that the app works with an Internet connection, so the app will not find offers if the user does not have a connection.  

Regarding the environment for entities, no latencies have been detected in the tests and user or purchase data have been recorded instantly.

Usability

  • The visual appearance of both the app and the environment for entities is professional and the content is well organized. In general it is intuitive. This helps the user to function better in their use of the app. 
  • Both interfaces are well implemented and facilitate intuitive and comfortable use and navigation, in each case. 
  • In the app, the typography of some information such as the address of the establishment or the title of the product is not entirely appropriate since it does not contrast with the background as it is gray on white or gray on gray. In the environment for entities the same problem occurs with contrasts. 
  • For the content of the app the icons used are adequate. The location, time or batches have representative icons.

Accessibility

For people with reduced or no vision:

The screen reader option for iPhone (VoiceOver) and Android (Talkback) has been tested in the app. Both detect tags correctly and narrate the information appropriately. Perhaps there is too much information in a row on a product's bulletin boards as the entire block is the same label. 

The contrasts of the content could improve. Hours or address are displayed in gray on white, white product titles sometimes don't contrast with their background image. On the other hand, the contrasts of the menu icons or the user profile do help with accessibility.

Regarding the assessment by the technical team, we say that we opted for this modality of digital coupons of this APP (without being exclusive compared to other types of wallet cards) because it is a solution with a high impact on the beneficiaries:
