What does it consist of:

Funker E500i Easy Smart is a smartphone with simplified user interface. It is a touch device adapted for very easy use, it has an extra-large screen and can use all the applications of a conventional Smartphone, such as WhatsApp. It incorporates physical buttons to facilitate safe activation of the main functions. It has a highly high volume for both calls and conversations and a desktop base that makes charging easier.

It contains, on the back of the device, an SOS key that facilitates communication and position of the device in case of emergency.

It is an innovative, easy-to-use and high-quality device.

In addition, it offers a direct technical assistance service for possible device breakdowns. The user must fill out an online form and will then receive an email with shipping instructions. The direct technical assistance service is free with the exceptions:

If after checking by the technical department the device does not present the indicated anomaly.
If the fault has been caused by improper use of the terminal or accessories.

In these cases, a charge of €29.90 will be charged for labor and transportation. It will be mandatory to settle this charge for the delivery of the device.

In accordance with the latest modification of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users, in force since January 1, 2022, this device has a 3-year warranty.

Buttons and physical appearance

The phone has three physical buttons on the bottom of the device. The first, located on the left side of the device, allows you to access Calls.

The center button redirects from any screen to the home page. Finally, the button on the right allows you to go back.

On the right side of the device the user can adjust the volume, lock and unlock the phone and directly access the Camera, with the button at the bottom.

On the left side, it has the adapter for the fixed charging base. However, it also incorporates a type C input for charging.

On the back is the rear camera and the SOS button, from where the user can activate or deactivate the emergency button.

In addition, the Funker E500i is equipped with a 5.5” IPS LCD screen, an ideal size for viewing the phone's applications and tools.

Start Menu

It is a simple menu, equipped with an operating system based on Android 10 with large icons, easily configurable and very easy to use.

It presents a user interface with a homogeneous and simplified layout. The user will have all the applications on several screens, so they can swipe to navigate between them.

One of the screens only has the photos of the contacts added to the phonebook. The main screen presents the time at the top, in a large size, and the date. The SOS key will be displayed as another application on the screen, from where its operation can be configured. The applications that the user downloads will continue to be added on the last screen.

Calls and messages

The functionalities associated with calls and messages are fully adapted to the user. In this way, it offers a large keyboard for dialing phone numbers, as well as a simplified call history.

In addition, the interface presented for sending messages offers a large text box and great simplicity for selecting the recipient.

The device has a shortcut menu for contact photos to make it as easy as possible to find and call your most frequent contacts.

Camera and image gallery

It has an 8 Megapixel rear camera and a 4 Megapixel front camera.

The camera can be accessed from the physical button on the left side of the device, a tool that improves the usability of the device. Additionally, once inside the Camera, this button will be used to capture images or videos.

The image gallery is accessible and has a simple and minimalist interface.

The phone allows the sending and receiving of images, audio or videos, and supports video calls through the application.

By default, buttons and text size are large. However, accessibility tools are not offered in this application as in similar terminals, such as simplifying the message sending process or adapted message reception.

SOS button

This device incorporates the SOS button on the back of the device. The configuration of its functions can be done in a simple and intuitive way. When pressed, it starts a sequence of calls to the previously configured numbers. This sequence is repeated three times or until a user answers.

By activating the positioning function, the phone provides the GPS location through a message to the numbers previously configured by the user. Additionally, the user can establish the sending of emergency messages to the previously selected phone numbers.

From the SOS section, which is presented as a mobile application, the user can select the possibility of informing emergency contacts about the low battery, modify the SOS message and emergency contact numbers.

Applications

The Funker E500i incorporates the official Google application store, so it is possible to install any application according to the user's preferences. Once installed, the applications will appear on the last screen, following the design and aesthetics of the applications already installed on the device. In the Applications section, a list of the most common mobile applications is presented, including YouTube or Meet. From this screen, the user has the possibility of downloading these applications, without having to access Google Play.

Basic applications, such as Clock, Calculator or Radio, have a simple and user-friendly interface.

Configuration and adjustments

The user has the Settings section at their disposal, which includes basic and advanced settings. In addition, you will have the possibility of configuring the WiFi connection, Bluetooth and Airplane mode in the top bar.

In this case, the interface will be displayed in the same way as on a regular device, without any adaptation.

Usability and Accessibility

The phone has a simple and intuitive interface.

The reversible type C connector allows its use in both positions. In this way the user can connect the charger easily, avoiding errors or breakdowns. It includes a comfortable desktop charging base, which allows the user to use the Smartphone while it charges.

If necessary, it is possible to expand the device's memory by using microSD cards with a maximum capacity of 128 GB.

Accessibility for people with reduced or no visibility

The Funker E500i EASY SMART does not have the possibility of increasing the font size. However, the dimensions of the text are relatively large and the contrast with the screen correct.

Visual support is offered in all elements contained in the interface. However, other non-visual alternatives are always presented to access the information. Any functionality allows voice synthesis, such as dialing phone numbers.

Accessibility for people with hearing difficulties

The phone has features designed for users with hearing difficulties. Among them, it has a very loud timbre (up to 85 dB) or compatibility with hearing aids, which implies that the device has the ability to operate without producing interference with hearing aids with acoustic coupling.

Accessibility for people with cognitive difficulties

The language used is basic, it does not present complexity. This phone stands out for its simplified and well-organized interface, so it would not be a problem for this group.

In addition, the manual explains all the features of the terminal in an easy to understand way.

Accessibility for people with reduced mobility

It is an easy-to-use Smartphone for people with reduced mobility, as it has a magnetic charging base and physical buttons that allow the user to access the basic functionalities of the device.

Conclusions

In general terms, it is possible to conclude that it is a very complete device with correctly implemented functionalities. This terminal offers good usability and accessibility tools and presents a design that meets the user's needs.
